Colt Telecom Data Centre, Dublin

Completed in 2003, the Long Mile Road data centre in Dublin was part of a Europe wide fibre and data centre network. Colt Telecom employed Stuart at the height of the dot.com era to deliver data centre capability to their existing Irish telecommunications network.

Stuart was the client’s development manager for this new 55,000 sq ft hosting facility and was based in Ireland for the construction period. Diverse power and fibre supplies were brought to the site. The facility was created in an existing high bay warehouse, with primary plant with n+1 resilience on the ground floor and the data room on a mezzanine floor. Stuart’s team worked closely with Honeywell to open the data centre for business, just one year after taking over the building.
