Millennium Dome
Stuart was the one of the senior project managers at the historic Millennium Dome. He was the first construction team member on site in 1997 and continued in a variety of roles until the Dome opened in 2000.
Working for the Laing McAlpine Joint Venture, it remains one of his career highlights. It was the highest profile construction site in the UK, and was delivered on time and under budget.
It presented a unique challenge – how do you start a landmark building when you don’t know what it will contain? The answer was a combination of teamwork, flexibility and innovation.
